At this time due to Social Distancing, we regret that parties cannot be held.

Riverview Orchards has been holding Birthday Parties for over 25 years!  We love families and children and have lots of fun entertaining them.  Our parties are held all year long but our most popular ones occur during Autumn when we take advantage of the fall harvest.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a party cost and what's included? The basic price per child is $13.95 plus tax with a minimum of 8 kids.  This includes all activities, drinks, snacks, and dessert.  Adults are $3 plus tax each and includes drinks, snacks, and dessert.

What are the add-ons?

Pizza is $2 plus tax more per child.  As of 1/1/19, to reflect the prevailing price of pizza, adults will now be charged $3.50 extra.  We always make sure we have multiple pieces for everyone, especially adults.  Therefore, the total price per adult with pizza is $6.50.

Pinåtas are $20 plus tax each filled or $14 plus tax each empty.  We provide the bat and bags.  Some parents use this as their  "goody bags".

Goody Bags are available from us for $4.50 plus tax each and are filled with products from our own store including candy.

What about toddlers and siblings?  Do you charge for them?

We charge for the actual number of kids who participate in the party.  We will not be able to tell whether a child is a sibling or not.  If a toddler takes part in the party, then we charge; otherwise not.

What if adults just stand around and don't eat.  Will you charge?

$3.00 plus tax is a reasonable price per adult, so we charge regardless.  It is too difficult to keep track of who eats and who doesn't.*  However, we will not charge for adults who drop off or pick up kids.

*To purchase a drink at our normal retail price would be $2.00 and a donut would be $1.00.  During parties adults are allowed to consume more than one drink and one donut or cake so it's a deal.

Does the hayride cost extra?

No, it is included.

If we are in the orchard in the fall, can adults pick apples?

The kids each get a snack-sized bag for picking that will hold a half dozen apples depending on their size.  If adults want to pick, they must get their own bags from the attendant and pay when they return.

How long will the party last?

It will be between one and a half and two hours.

What is the largest party we can have?

20 kids will fit nicely into the inside party area.  Adults may have to hover around them, with or without chairs. Outdoor parties do not have a maximum number.

What snacks are served?

Gold fish, animal crackers, chips, caramel dip and apple slices, or whatever is a favorite of the birthday child.  We usually serve two snacks and decide ahead, along with all the other details for the party.

Drinks are appropriate for the season including apple cider, water, juice, or soda.  For adults, coffee is available when needed.

Where do we go when we first arrive for the party?

Please come into the store to announce your arrival and to meet your party guide.

How do we know what to do and where to go during the party?

You will be assigned one or more party guides who will be with you the entire time.

Can I bring decorations for the party?

Yes you can, but you have to remember that another party may be going on ahead of yours.  This may mean that you cannot set up ahead of time.  If the party is outside on the picnic tables, it may be windy for decorations.  Also, if you set up ahead and then go to the orchard, you will need someone to stay behind to make sure everything is secure.

Can I bring goody bags for the kids?

Yes, you certainly can.

Can we bring extra food?

You'll need to review this possibility with Isabel ahead of time.  We are unable to keep foods warm in the kitchen, and it may also be impossible for us to keep other foods cold.  We supply the pizza and ask that you do not bring it in yourselves or have it delivered.  To do so is too difficult with both storing and timing.  We supply it and the plastic serving gloves, plates, napkins, and utensils for serving.

What is included for the dessert?

You can choose a sheet cake or a Donut Tower.  Our cakes are all homemade and frosted with appropriate decorations and the name of the child.  Or, you can choose what we call our Donut Tower, donuts stacked up on a form in the shape of a small Christmas tree with candles on the top.  (Adults love this choice!)

I'd like my child to have a more elaborate cake. Can you make me one?

Yes, we do designer cakes for an additional fee. Requests must be made well in advance to accommodate.

Can I bring my own cake?

Yes, you can.  However, we give no reduction in price, but we'll be happy to serve donuts in addition to it.

Can I make a reservation online?

No, you have to call.  On weekends in the fall, most parties are held at 10:00 am, 12:00 noon, 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm.  Choose your time based on availability, kids' naps, and meals.

Is there a down payment required?

No, but we ask that you call ASAP if you have a change of plans.  Please do not leave us hanging until the last minute.  This way we can schedule someone else.

How do we confirm?

Either you'll call us or we'll call you at least three days before the party.  We will need an estimate of the number of kids and adults attending.  The day of the party we'll be charging you for the actual number who attend with a minimum of 8 kids.

What do you take for payment?

We take cash, all major credit cards, or personal checks.

What should I do if I have additional questions?

Please feel free to call 518-371-2174 and we'll do our best to answer them.

Thanks and have a great party!
